About

Practice should come before the patient

Students learn to prescribe on real patients, under time pressure, on their first day alone. Oskela exists to move that first attempt somewhere it cannot hurt anyone.

What we set out to build

Most educational software asks a student to recognise the right answer among five. Clinical work asks them to produce one: a drug, a dose, a route, in a patient with a creatinine of 180 and a penicillin allergy, and to live with what follows.

Oskela is built around that difference. Every module asks for a decision, applies it to a patient who responds, and then explains the consequence.

Principles we build to

  • Safety logic is deterministic. Dose ranges, renal thresholds, interactions and allergy checks come from data and rules that can be inspected, tested and corrected. A language model never decides whether a prescription is safe.
  • Scoring is server-side. Timing, shuffling, marking and result release all happen where the browser cannot influence them.
  • AI drafts; humans approve. Generated questions and cases enter the platform as clearly-marked drafts and require faculty review before any student sees them.
  • Feedback beats a mark. A score with no explanation teaches nothing. Every item carries the reasoning.

What this is not

Oskela is an educational simulator. It is not a clinical decision support tool, not a prescribing reference, and not a substitute for your local formulary, institutional protocols or a senior colleague. Doses and rules in the platform are chosen to teach principles, and must never be applied to a real patient.

Come and try it

The free tier includes real cases, a real prescription lab and a real tutor.
